Ballet des Enfants
Ballet Program Overview

YPAS offers its’ students a thoughtfully designed syllabus based on the techniques of the Royal Academy of Dance. The Royal Academy system encourages our students to achieve their personal best in the understanding, appreciation and performance of classical ballet, through a balanced and progressive program of study. Students must be minimum class age by their first day of class.

Pre-Primary Level-5 years or Instructor Placement (60 min. Ballet & Tap)

This class is designed as a transition between Ballet des Enfants and YPAS. Each class incorporates lessons in classical ballet technique, including barre work, floor progressions and etiquette, with stories from the great classical ballets, imaginative improvisation and choreography.

Primary Level– 6 years or Instructor Placement (60 min. Ballet)

This level of the RAD syllabus focuses on the basic exercises of classical ballet training. Focus, etiquette, and mastery of basic movement are emphasized. In addition to technique, students develop memory skills while learning basic combinations and improvisation.

Level I-7 years or Instructor Placement (60 min. Ballet)

This level of the RAD syllabus not only focuses on classical techniques, but on musicality and expression. In addition to further developing technique, students are introduced to character dances, a stylized representation of traditional Hungarian, Russian, and Polish folk dances.

Levels 2 & 3 - 8-10 years or Instructor Placement (60 min. Ballet)

These levels of RAD syllabus continue to develop the classical dancers training. Students refine their form and technique, while continuing to develop their technical vocabulary, placement, and execution. Variations and character dances based on original classical ballets develop the musicality and presence of the student.

Tap and Jazz Technique - 6 years and up

For the dance student who is looking for an additional challenge! These fun filled classes introduce dancers to different movement styles and techniques with concentration on rhythm, coordination, and strength.
